The Founder

Rock Morel is the founder of Groupe Séma Structures Ferroviaires Inc. He began his career at the Canadian National, where he worked in the bridges and structures department for 17 years.

His experience allowed him to go into this kind of business. He was hired as a consultant to supervise the work on the Quebec Bridge.

The Establishment of the Company

CN and CP began to sell subdivisions of their

railway in the mid-1990s. As a result, shortlines were created. So, a need in inspection and management of structures was created. This is why Mr. Rock Morel founded Groupe Séma Structures Ferroviaires Inc. in 1996. This company is specialized in all kinds of railway structures.

At first, the company inspected structures belonging to subsidiaries of the Société des chemins de fer du Québec. SÉMA became so the only company, excluding the CN and the CP, in Eastern Canada to inspect and repair railway structures. A new company has been recently created to provide a better service to its Ontarian clients.
